WTWY1Herb Saperstone, M.S., is a media writer, producer and editor who specializes in educational TV having created, written, directed, and produced commercial and public access television programs for over 28 years. He also has developed VR and 360 video projects for online platforms as well as public performances, most recently for the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery’s Digital Dome Theater.  Past clients/employers include Poudre School District PSDTV, Scott Resources, Inc., UCAR/NCAR, Larimer County, Kendall Hunt Publishers, and the City of Fort Collins Cable 14.  Since the late 1980s, he has produced or directed hundreds of video and multimedia titles in the curricular areas of science, technology, literacy, local history, music, and the fine arts and provided instructional design and production consulting for staff and administrators. As the former manager for  PSD TV Channel 10’s local television studio facilities, Mr. Saperstone  supervised both cablecast and online/social media delivery of video content through PSD TV’s broadcast and web portals. From 1988 to 1995,  he served as Director of Video Production for American Educational Products/Scott Resources where he developed a successful product line of earth, life, and environmental science videos, teacher guides,  and videodiscs for middle school classrooms.  Mr. Saperstone completed his MS in Geology from Colorado State University in 1986 and continues to pursue his interests in earth science and natural history through teaching, curriculum development, script writing and leading local nature walks.  Prior to his career in TV production, Mr. Saperstone, taught Physical Geology at Front Range Community College and was employed as a geologist for the U.S.Geological Survey, National Park Service, and ARCO Coal.  He has garnered recognition for his video work from diverse groups such as the International Television Association, the Colorado Historical Society, Festival for Scientific Diffusion Videos, The Colorado School Public Relations Association, and the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research.  He can be reached by email at herbsaperstone@gmail.com or by adding a comment here.
