The Art of Science

by Herb Saperstone

On a personal note, I like to think of my career’s work as an exhilarating blend of art and science– and in my case the creation and interpretation of science into something non scientists could appreciate and learn from- namely science education videos.  As geoscience is both my formal science training and my passion, this ‘artful’ process comes somewhat naturally and I constantly seek new ways to express it. Recently I had the pleasure of reconnecting (after 24 years) with a former colleague who has turned her career into a shining model of the artful scientist.  Sarah Andrews, is a professional geoscientist, teacher, lecturer and mystery writer who crafttly narrates her stories around forensic geology. Check out her version of art and science and see what you think.  http://www.sarahandrews.net/
