My first post is brief but that didn’t mean our journey to get here was.

Our first 48 hours- even if that is the right measurement given the time 11.5 hour change, was nothing short of a travel marathon. Yes, 11.5 hours as a holdover from the early British colonial days. We left Fort Collins 4 AM MST on Oct 21 and plopped down in our hotel room in New Dehli around 2AM Oct 23 local Indian Standard Time.

From Denver, we took a ‘short hop’ to Boston and then flew Lufthansa first to Munich and then to Dehli. The Airbus 380-800 planes are immense double decker jets and we had great service for the combined 18 hour-in flight trip time. As of now (Oct, 2025) they are the largest commercial planes in use with a passenger capacity of over 500! With enough credit card points and a flash sale we flew business class – what treat to stretch out and enjoy real meals in flight (just like the old days).

We are here at the Suryaa Hotel and the adventure begins soon!
